FAQ - What is the difference between fielded and Whole Frames?

Fielded frames aka Interlaced Frames playback much smoother than that of whole frames. Fielded frames contain image information from 2 consecutive frames and therefor playback much smoother while displaying high motion.

Whole frames are just that - a single whole frame. If these whole frames contain images with high motion, some of the motion will be lost during playback.

Fielded or Interlaced frames of animation are superior to whole frames unless you wish to resize the image. Whole frames can be resized where as fielded frames cannot. When resizing a fielded frame, the fielding or interlacing with cause distruction to the image.
