Fielded video backgrounds are interlaced. You can either have
an interlaced image or a progressive image. Interlaced or fielded
images contain 2 consucutive frames combined into 1 frame. You
will have image information from both frames in one. This information
is combined within a staggering of horizontal lines representing
both original frames. Progressive images contain only the image
information from a single frame. Progressive images play back
much more roughly, where as interlaced or fielded images have
a much smoother playback.
