"OVER 800 VIDEO BACKGROUNDS IN THIS COLLECTION!!" ...screams the salesman pushing volumes of backgrounds at bargain basement prices.

Have you ever seen this when shopping for video backgrounds?

You may think you see 3 backgrounds above, when actually there is only 1 background up there. The gold version on the left is the original background which was taken into Photoshop where a hue adjustment was executed 2 times to get the pink and green versions.

To often, I've come across people selling royalty free background collections that are loaded with hue adjustment backgrounds. These producers will count the hue adjustments as individual backgrounds inflating the number of backgrounds contained in the collection, making you think you're getting more for your money. Many times you can find collections of backgrounds with more than half a dozen backgrounds that have been created simply by changing the background's color, and counting it as a seperate background.

BE CAREFUL!! Don't be fooled by hue adjustments being peddled as seperate backgrounds. Most NLE systems offer tools that allow you to execute your own hue adjustmsnts. Click, slide and voila!!! You can change the color of anything now a days. Instead of spending your money on color changes, why not do it yourself for FREE?!! Also, adjusting a background's hue can sometimes damage the image by flattening pixels, softening contrast, or even worse, make the image unstable or illegal for broadcast!

We won't waste your money, or valuable DVD realestate on such production tactics. When you purchase a volume of Hypereye backgrounds that contain 20 backgrounds - that is what you get - 20 individual designs, or, "backgrounds". Oh sure, sometimes we've created variations of backgrounds, but those variations are never somthing as simple as a hue adjustment. Watch out, stay out of that bargain basement!! Unless you are shopping for the cheapest, fattest, over-stuffed collection of color changed hue adjustments.
